Archives

The Archives Office is located on the grounds of the Cathedral Precinct in a separate building adjacent to the Catholic Centre.

Established to house the history of the Archdiocese of Brisbane, the archive contains materials, records and artefacts relevant to more than 150 years of the Catholic Church in Queensland.

Enquiries as to the availability of materials should be made in writing and addressed to the Archivist.

Catholic Archives will endeavour to assist researchers as far as possible, however, as the Archives Office is only open on a part-time basis it is essential that an appointment to consult records be made in advance with Archives Staff.

Due to resource and staffing levels, it may often be possible to obtain information from other sources such as the State Library of Queensland, the John Oxley Library or the Genealogical Society more conveniently.
