Promoting the dignity of every human person is immensely important to the Church because each of us is created in the image and likeness of God. That is why action for a more just and peaceful world is an indispensable part of the Church's mission. Because the Earth and all its resources are intended for the good of all people, now and in the future, the Church is also concerned to promote responsible stewardship of the environment.
Through the work of the Everyday Mission Team in conjunction with the Catholic Justice and peace Commission of the Archdiocese of Brisbane, Faith and Life educates Catholics about Catholic Social Teaching, informs them about important social and environmental issues, promotes and supports action for justice, peace and sustainability, and collaborates with other Church and community groups involved in these areas.
If you would like to know more about this work, you can contact Peter Arndt, Mission Development Officer in the Everyday Mission Team and Executive Officer of the Catholic Justice and peace Commission of the Archdiocese of Brisbane at arndtp@bne.catholic.net.au or on (07) 3336 9173.
