A major commitment of both the Archdiocese and religious
institutes relates to Catholic schooling through 136 parish and diocesan
schools and 20 religious institute schools. All schools engage in
strategic review and planning, as required by the bishops and religious
institutes to ensure the promotion of a strong Catholic ethos as
well meeting the requirements of the State Government for ongoing
accreditation.
For example, Brisbane Catholic Education plans according to priorities
identified in Strategic Renewal Framework 2002-2006 for Catholic
Schooling, Archdiocese of Brisbane. This framework commits Brisbane
Catholic Education to the following high quality outcomes:
|
- Enhance and resource a curriculum in which teaching and
learning in our schools establishes improved student learning
outcomes.
- Enhance the effectiveness of the classroom teaching of religion and the faith
development of staff and students.
- Further develop the pastoral care and support provided to students and their
families.
- Enhance the professional support and pastoral care of staff.
- Strengthen partnerships and relationships within and beyond our school communities.
- Work with pastors and parish communities to develop new models of collaboration
in the service of our evangelising mission of education.
- Integrate information and communication technologies into student and staff
learning processes.
- Provide, promote and equitably resource quality Catholic schooling.
- Implement school and archdiocesan renewal, planning and quality assurance
processes.
