National website launched for Parish Pastoral Councils
Australia's Parish Pastoral Councils have a new resource in the form of a national website http://ppc.catholic.org.au/ppc/ppc.html.
The site has been developed under the auspices of the Australian Bishops’ Conference Committee for Laity.
In July 2005 Bishop Peter Connors convened a Parish Pastoral Councils Working Group. Sr Cecilia Anning rsj of Brisbane is an inaugural member. The Group investigated available formation resources for parish councils, consulted widely, and developed recommendations for a national program.
The new website has grown out of that process. More recently the Working Group has been auspiced by the Bishops’ Pastoral Life Commission, with Bishop Gerard Hanna of Wagga Diocese as convenor.
The website contains a number of articles on the theology and practice of pastoral councils, resources for prayer and spiritual formation, and helpful information about the day to day running of parish pastoral councils.
