Rachel's Vineyard Retreat 2012 - Brisbane
Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat is a confidential healing ministry for the many people who have been touched by an abortion experience. Too often women and men are silenced by their abortions, and the retreats offer a safe place to express grief and to reclaim their voices in an understanding and compassionate environment.The retreats run from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. Seminar with Dr Priscilla Coleman
Topic: The Psychology of Abortion: Knowledge to Practice. This presentation will provide an overview of the most defensible scientific evidence geared toward answering three basic questions: Who is most at risk for psychological harm following abortion? What are common negative post-abortion psychological responses? How strong is the evidence in 2012? She has published more peer-reviewed articles on the mental health implications of abortion than any other researcher. She recently published in the British Journal of Psychiatry her alarming findings of a meta-analysis of 22 international studies on abortion. She concluded that 20-30% of women who had an abortion suffered from serious, prolonged negative consequences including depression, anxiety and substance abuse.
